You've probably heard a lot about the beauty benefits of coconut milk. But have you ever tried coconut milk soap? These are quite different from regular soaps as they infuse all the goodness of pure delicious, nutrient rich coconut milk into the skin without depleting their natural oils. But that’s not all coconut milk soap can do.... 😊
For starters, the best thing about coconut milk soap is that it actually cleanses the skin from the inside without causing excessive dryness. Being rich, pure coconut milk, coconut milk soaps contain lots of fatty acids. Deep cleans by removing all sorts of impurities (dirt and dead skin cells.) and that too while maintaining skin’s natural hydration. In short, it acts as a gentle, yet effective facial and body cleanser. Healthy from the inside out!
The huge amount of nutrients as well as fatty acids present in coconut milk soaps offer intense hydration to dry, dull and lifeless skin. Unlike other soaps, the coconut soaps do not dry out the skin while cleansing it. Rather, coconut milk soap’s super-moisturizing properties help to restore the lost moisture of your skin by rejuvenating the cells thoroughly. As a result, you get soft, supple and smoother skin. It's a win win! Especially for skin that is starting to mature...as we all do over time.
Regular use of coconut milk soap can delay premature aging significantly. It has been found that coconut milk is enriched with powerful antioxidants including Vitamin C and Vitamin E, which lower the number of harmful free radicals in our body and prevent oxidative damages caused by them. It is also full of essential micronutrients like selenium, iron, copper, zinc, etc...which take care of the health and nourishment of the skin. Regular use of this soap also claims to prevent wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage, age spots and loose, sagging skin.
As I've stated above, coconut milk soaps are effective in deep cleansing the skin, which makes them a great for helping to clear acne. Apart from it, coconut milk is packed with fatty acids like lauric acid, caprylic acid, capric acid, and others...which, being efficient anti-microbial agents, can reduce existing acne and prevent further breakouts. Also, some of these fatty acids can work as antioxidants that put a stop to free radical damages and help to eliminate blemishes faster.
When it comes to repairing and healing damaged skin, coconut milk soap can turn out to be a knock out champion. It contains a rather large dose of Vitamin E and many other vital nutrients that nourish the cells and speed up the repairing process. It is used to make the skin smooth and healthy by healing rashes, wounds, burns, chapped skin, and more.
The lauric acid present in coconut milk is known to have excellent anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. Coconut milk Soaps can create a ‘chemical barrier’ on the surface layer of the skin with regular application. Its regular use can also keep a number of minor to major issues like eczema, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, etc. away.
At Purely Soaps and Suds, all of our soap bases, begin with coconut milk for the very reasons stated above. We choose to be superior and provide a protecting clean, a nourishing clean. 😊
From our Rosemary Mint, to our Lemongrass and Verbena and every scent we make...We believe in the health benefits of starting at the building block of soap, every single ingredient, counts...it cleans and heals..the body and soul.  😉Purely Soaps and Suds

I prefer to use natural colorants for their beauty benefits. Here are a couple that I believe in using, especially for more mature skin types. Get to know your clays! They're fabulous for many uses.
Purple Brazilian clay is a great option for people who want to help prevent aging skin. It’s chock full of magnesium, which promotes healthy cell maintenance — an essential part of maintaining a youthful appearance. Also, purple Brazilian clay helps prevent your skin from absorbing impurities, which is why it’s often used in soap and facial cleansers.
Red Brazillian clay, Red Brazilian clay has a stronger drawing (or absorption) power than other Brazilian clays. This
makes it ideal for people with more oily skin or skin that’s prone to acne. The clay is rich in copper and iron oxide, and has lower levels of aluminum. Because of this, clay masks made using red Brazilian clay are ideal for treating painful or swollen joints. Additionally, red clay helps improve elasticity and promotes a natural lifting effect on your skin.
Brazillian vs kaolin and bentonite clays, With so many different types of clay to choose from, it’s easy to getconfused. Fortunately, once you know the difference between Brazilian, bentonite, and kaolin clays, it’s a lot easier to choose the right product for your skin.
Kaolin clays are fine-grained clays with mild absorbing properties, which makes them ideal for people with dry to normal skin. Brazilian clay is a type of kaolin clay that comes from Brazil. These clays come in a variety of different colors, including red, purple, black, and gold. The clay is naturally colored — they don’t contain artificial dyes or pigments. Instead, the color comes from the minerals that the clay has absorbed over time. Because Brazilian clay is available in a variety of natural colors, it’s often used to add color to homemade soap, skincare products, and cosmetics.
Bentonite clay is clay that’s made from volcanic ash. It’s known for its high absorbing properties. In fact, it can absorb more than its weight in water, which makes it ideal for people with extremely oily skin. High-quality bentonite clay is a greenish-grey color, and the majority of the clay is harvested in the U.S., France, and Italy.
Kaolin Clay's are among the most gentle clays. Mild absorption properties, less drying of the skin. Providing a silky lather in each bar. Clay's are amazing, healthy, and highly beneficial.  :)
